Evans Peak - May 21st 2023

 We had a barbecue event planned for the evening at my moms house in Maple Ridge so we decided to head out for a hike in Golden Ears nearby beforehand. I have wanted to do Evans Peak for a while but never got around to it and finally decided to pull the trigger on it.

Evans Peak is a very easy and popular trail but its quite steep and doesn't have any views until the top. We started hiking around 9 and there isn't much to say about the trail except its quite a slog. Coen and Sam did really well and we made it to turnoff an start of the fun part pretty quickly. On the final bit to the summit there is one or two steep rocky sections with a rope that I had to navigate / bushwack around with Jebby to get up but it wasn't too bad. Coen and Sam took the standard way up.

Once at the top we got some decent views and had some lunch but then the clouds rolled in and it got cold so we hurried down. Felt bad for the people heading up as they wouldn't see anything.
