Cannell Mountain - February 21st 2022

So I definitely dropped the ball on this one and forgot to make a blog post until now (April 1st) but better late than never... it will be short as I don't remember the details super well.

Decided to hike this as it was one of my last 2 Mission area peaks left and I knew it was easy. It was a gorgeous day so I headed out with Jebby and made quick work of the trail. It shares the same trail as the Hunter Lookout that Sam, Coen and I had done on New Years Day for the bottom portion before splitting off to the adjacent peak. Its all logging road either way until the final bushwack to the summit.

Near the top when you turn south you get gorgeous views east towards Dewdney mountain and North towards the mountains surrounding Stave Lake but overall the Hunter Lookout had better views. Either way it was fun to look East and see Dewdney which Coen and I had just done the day prior although it wasn't the way we went up so you can't really recognize any of the terrain.

Once at the end of the official trail I bushwhacked for ~10 minutes to get to the top. It was ugly brush and there was a bit of snow but nothing too crazy. The summit bump sucked as usual so I didn't stay long. Jebby led me back down following his nose and we returned home.
