Mt. MacFarlane - July 9th / 10th 2022

I convinced the family to camp at lower Pierce lake this weekend. Little did they know it was just an excuse for me to go up MacFarlane 😃 (JK they're too smart for me).

Headed up on Satuday at ~11 and got to the lower lake at ~3, saw a few people on the way up who had come down and told me it was too foggy to go up the mountain. When I got to the lake it definitely was quite foggy. I had contemplated summiting on Saturday afternoon but I decided to wait until the AM.
Hit the trail at 6:30 and was at the upper lake at 7:30. Top at 8. Was pretty clear except when I was at the top and then the fog rolled in. I could still easily see my descent though and back to lower lake at 9, packed up and down to the car for 1:30.

Fun hike. I used microspikes and ice axe. Probably didn't need the spikes as the snow was pretty soft and they actually mostly just got in my way (snow balled up etc.)

Stats are 17.5km RT; 1864m; ~10h C2C (with overnight packs and a 12 YO who was dragged along for most of it).
