Mt. Crickmer - Nov 12th 2022

Mt. Crickmer - Nov. 12th w/ Samanta Zbinden, Jebby and Coen

Decided to delay my Crickmer trip by a day due to the weather forecast and it was totally worth it as Saturday was a blue bird beautiful day.

Started hiking at 8:30 and the logging road is long and boring but there are a few spots with some decent views so it wasn't all too bad. At about the 6.5km mark we finally hit the trail and some snow. Before the Kearsley creek crossing there is a big trail washout with a slight detour that looks pretty recent. The bridge itself seemed a little sketchy, the snow covered it and I couldn't really tell what I was stepping on but a few glimpses through showed rotten broken lumber... Anyways it held.

After the creek crossing you follow a abandoned logging road (I think) for ~2km. The snow was consistent but not very deep for most of it so the bush-iness was still pretty annoying. I would suggest waiting a bit longer for deeper snow cover on this part. It was definitely the most annoying section of the whole hike. We had opted to leave our snow shoes in the truck because it looked like there would be little snow from the road but this could have been a mistake. Luckily some other party had broken trail all the way to the top and it hadn't snowed in a while so we were ok but if it snows I would highly suggest snowshoes.

The last kilometer gains ~300m pretty steep but the top is beautiful.
