Mt. Klaudt - August 28th 2022
Just a short one.
Sam had to work on Sunday for just a few hours so Coen, Jebby and I decided to do a short nearby hike while we waited. We got to her work at 8am and dropped her off and headed up to Sasquatch resort to check out Mt. Klaudt which was a short hike I had identified as possibly doing. We had to be back by 11 to pick her up so we had quite a tight timeline.
We got to the trailhead at about 8:30 and headed off. The trail was a wide gravelly logging-ish road that is mostly used for snowshoeing for the first 1-1.5km and then we turned off on to a smaller one and it got quite ugly. Very overgrown and bushy. You can tell people really only use it for snowshoeing. We saw some bear scat and I had forgotten my bear spray so we were a little nervous.
We got ~75% of the way before realizing we wouldn't have the time to finish it neither did we really care to either. We turned around and picked up Sam.
I will go back and bag this in the winter along with some other peaks nearby to practice my split-boarding.
