McKee Peak and Chilliwack Mountain - December 11, 12 2021

 Did a few minor hikes to get back in to the swing of things this past weekend. Went up McKee Peak Saturday AM at ~9:30 with Coen, Jebby and Sam. We started across from Ledgeview golf course and went up the hiking trail about 1/4 of the way before deciding to split off and take some mountain biking trails that would shorten the trip a bit. They were steep but we made it up without much happening around 10:30. We ended up taking the hiking trail back down the whole way and got back to the car around 11. It was fun but I don't think I'll do McKee peak again for a while.

Sunday morning 8:30 Jebby and I headed out bag easy Chilliwack Mountain peak. I drove up nearly to the top and walked the 10 minutes to the viewpoint. It was beautifully snowy and we were the first tracks and completely alone. From the viewpoint we bushwacked up about 2 minutes to the bushy knob that was the true summit. Headed back to the parking lot and it had only been 20 minutes since we started so we decided to do the 2km loop to add some distance. It was an easy walk and in the snow quite enjoyable. Definitely won't do this one again because the drive is long for the payoff but with some elderly or injured folk it might be worth it if passing by.
